Omakase Hinoki Counter in Manhattan, NYC Project

Project Overview:

Omakase Hinoki Counter in Manhattan, NYC Project

Fabrication has begun on an omakase Hinoki counter for the Manhattan NYC project.
This bespoke piece is made from premium Japanese cypress sourced from Yoshino—a region renowned for its top-quality Hinoki—featuring slabs measuring 25 ft long, 26 in wide, and 4 in thick.

Materials & Craftsmanship:

Project Overview

Hanabusa prepared four carefully selected Hinoki slabs (including two spare) specifically for this project.

It's quite rare to come across Hinoki like this.

During the kiln-drying process, moisture levels start at approximately 38% and will be reduced to 10–15% over 40 days, preventing cracks or warping. The use of a spare slab acts as a contingency for any anomalies during drying

I can't wait until processing begins in 40 days.

Benefits for Architecture & Design:

Materials & Craftsmanship

  • Functional performance: Properly dried to 10–15% moisture, the counter offers top durability and stability.
  • Design versatility: The massive slab size allows for seamless integration into custom layouts and architectural concepts in Manhattan projects.

Why NYC & Manhattan?:
